Queen Jasmine Mbonu, the reigning Most Beautiful Student In Nigeria -
MBSN DEMOCRACY, has practically commenced her Rage Against Rape campaign, starting from the City of Awka in Anambra state. This is sequel to the launching of the RAR campaign recently.
The very hardworking beauty queen kickedoff of road show campaign from the popular UNIZIK bus-stand right into the major traffic areas of the state capital. The residents of the town felt her impact with the vibrant youths and team of students from different universities who championed the course to eradicate the menance called 'Rape' - a vampire sucking deep into life blood of the nation .
The high point of the RAR road campaign, was leading her team of youths in their hundreds to the students' hostels of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. . Very resounding ovation greeted her presence from the hostels as students rush to behold her presence and also partake voluntarily in the exercise.
The project which has the backing of the state government following the address made by the Governor through the Commissioner of youth and sports, Dr. Edozie Aroh who represented him during the ceremonial launch of the RAR Campaign in Anambra state . The project was also designed to empower 5,000 students nationwide in skill acquisition with a financial take-of grant . Barely, one month of the launch, the state which has a rising record of rape cases, are beginning to feel the impact of the beauty Queen's fight against dreaded menace.
In our her words, in one of her stop overs during the campaign, she said "
,I choose to engage in this campaign called ” Rage Against Rape”
because at this time, their is urgent need for an end to the incessant
molestation encountered on daily basis by young and innocent girls
across the country. The scourge is growing rapidly as brothers are
Molesting their own sisters, fathers Molesting their own daughters and
masters their maids. We believe that with campaigns like this,we can
overcome it and also preserve the dignity of our female children"
She further came out strong on rapists with this deposition "
Any man who have carnal knowledge of any woman against her will, deserves to die...You agents of wickedness I dare you to show your face, for only lily levered low down cowards fight in dark because they dread oppositions"
